Warriors overcome Sentinels in 2nd half to advance


Woodbridge 35, Magnolia 27:  The Warriors (6-4-1) continued to play catch up, drive for drive, with the Sentinels (5-6) in the first half Friday night at Handel Stadium in Anaheim, but came out in the second half to shut out Magnolia for the win and advance to the 2nd round of the CIF Southern Division playoffs.
  
Woodbridge was led by seniors Jalen CraverNick Gstrein, and Max Neser.  Playing both ways on offense and defense most of the game, each made significant contributions to the Warrior win.  
  
Craver rushed for 162 yards, had an additional 55 yards receiving, and scored twice in the second half.  
  
Gstrein had 2 touchdown catches and 120 yards receiving.
  
Neser passed for 245 yards including 3 touchdowns.
  
The Warriors enjoyed great fan support for the game who traveled quite a ways to the game on a cool evening night.  Rain began to fall as the game came to a close.  Read Jorge Medina's OCVarsity.com article on the game.  Game summary.
  
The Warriors now play Garden Grove (10-1) in the 2nd round of the CIF playoffs next Friday night at Irvine Stadium with game time at 7:00pm.  The Argonauts, this year's Garden Grove League champions, and the Warriors played in Week 3 with Garden Grove winning out, 22-19.  Friday's rematch will be for the opportunity to advance to the Southern Division semifinals. 
  
Woodbridge expects another big crowd to cheer them on next Friday.
