Irvine (Calif.) Woodbridge offensive linemen David Patterson will be staying in-state to play his college football. Patterson took an official visit to Fresno State and before he left the Central Valley, he committed to the Bulldogs. "I had my official visit at Fresno State this past weekend and everything went great," said Patterson. "Throughout the weekend Coach DeRuyter was with the recruits, so I had plenty of time to talk with him and the other coaches, including Coach (Cameron) Norcross, my position coach. We met one last time on Sunday, and I confirmed my commitment to the Bulldogs." Patterson also had offers from New Mexico State, Montana State and Sacramento State and was offered a preferred walk-on spot at Oregon, but the Bulldogs were too good for him to pass up.
